This was the last shoot I did before the world closed down from the COVID-19 pandemic. My gorgeous friend, Nikki, from Nikki Drinks Craft met me in downtown Bradenton later in the evening as the sun was going down which gives these shots a darker, grungier, and edgier vibe.
When you think of cool places to shoot in the Bradenton-area, downtown is probably not necessarily on the list, unless you're talking about Riverwalk along the water. You don't really realize how many cool textures and backgrounds you have available to you until you explore on your own two feet.
After we shot, we decided to grab some food and cocktails on the patio at Pier 22, which has a really impressive Happy Hour menu which we made it just in time for! I'm pretty sure we each ordered two drinks at once to make sure we got the cheaper price. I the waitress was a little miffed we were cheapskates, but whatever. When you like to pay $9 for a can of craft beer (and we both do), you gotta save where possible.
Over the tenure of our friendship, Nikki got me into craft beer and especially the magic of IPAs -- doubles and hazies <3. She's also been one of my biggest cheerleaders in terms of starting this photography venture with Self-Obsessed Millennial Photography. She's really the best and she damn sure can rock a daisy romper and white combat boots like your 90's dream come to life. Love ya girl!
While I mostly focus on engagement and elopement photography in the Bradenton and Sarasota area, I do love working with bloggers on to lifestyle, outfit, and brand product shoots! Hit me up if you need a cool photographer/goofball to pal around with and then go get cocktails. You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or fill out a booking inquiry.
